When I first heard about this show, I had to watch, but didn't have time to watch the episodes on TV. I eventually bought both season 1 and 2 during thanksgiving at a great price on Amazon. While watching the Shahs I really liked the characters and how diverse they were as Persians.
As a person with a Arabic background, I felt that I could relate to the Persian culture on the show. What was very entertaining was how the characters like Reza, Mj, Mike, GG, Aysa and Samy always caused drama with each other especially when GG gets mad.

I cannot in good conscience grant more stars than two to this show. Even having seen, as a guilty pleasure, other reality shows of a similar nature, the people in this show are some of the most loathsomely shallow, self involved, petty and outright deluded I've ever had the misfortune of seeing on a show with actual people. Gods help me, I could not take my eyes away. It's a love-to-hate them situation.

I watched the first episode and after the first 20 minutes, I turned it off. After waiting a couple of days, I watched the rest of the show and thought this was just another bunch of boring rich people. By the 4th episode, I was interested in their struggles and loving the peeks into their culture. GG came off as a tough brat at first, but after seeing more of her parents and sister, I actually pity her now. She's got a lot of growing to do, but I'd love to see how she matures as the show progresses. What I don't like is how she fronted in the first couple of episodes about her financial status. Her dad doesn't approve of her lavish spending and is ready to marry her off or see her get a job and support herself.

im hooked i love this show MJ is my favorite Lady. The hardships she has with her mother and the emotions she goes through are something a lot of women go through in life. The sense of family that these group of friends have is beautiful. watch you'll be hooked
